March-April 2008: A number of individual photos were taken at services during Great Lent.

The beginning of the rite of forgiveness9 March, 2008: In the Orthodox Calendar, today is considered both the Sunday of Forgiveness and Cheesefare Sunday. The latter title is because this is the last day for Orthodox Christians to eat dairy products until Easter.

16 March, 2008: The First Sunday of Lent is referred to as the Sunday of Orthodoxy, commemorating the restoration of icons in the ninth century.

30 March, 2008: The Third Sunday of Lent is dedicated to commemorating the Veneration of the Holy Cross. Part of this is a procession around the church with a cross, which is surrounded by flowers, while the faithful sing 'Holy God, Holy Mighty, Holy Immortal, have mercy on us', followed by the faithful venerating the cross.

6 April, 2008: The Fourth Sunday of Lent is dedicated to commemorating St John Climacus, writer of 'The Ladder of Divine Ascent'. We celebrated the Divine Liturgy of St Basil the Great on this day, with Fr Raymond being assisted by Rev. Dcn James Savage, who celebrated at our parish for the first time after his 23/Mar ordination.
